Goof Balls are irresistibly rich, bite-sized treats with layers of texture and flavor. A soft, nutty center made from graham cracker crumbs, peanut butter, and coconut is chilled, then coated in a smooth, melted butterscotch and paraffin mixture for a satisfying shell. They're fun to make, easy to store, and a nostalgic favorite for holiday platters or anytime snacking.
Ingredients

2 ½ sticks butter

1 cup chopped pecans

1 box powdered sugar

1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs

1 small can coconut

½ cup peanut butter

1 tsp vanilla

1 bag butterscotch chips

½ block paraffin (per bag of chips)
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs, chopped pecans, and coconut.
Add peanut butter, melted or softened butter, and vanilla. Mix until well combined and dough-like in texture.
Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and place them on a tray or baking sheet.
Refrigerate the balls for 30–40 minutes to firm up.
In a double boiler, melt the butterscotch chips with the paraffin until smooth.
Dip each chilled ball into the melted coating and place on waxed paper to set.
Allow to cool and harden before storing.
Recipe Note
- Paraffin helps the coating set with a glossy, firm finish—optional but traditional.
- For a different flavor, substitute chocolate chips for butterscotch.
- Store in the refrigerator for best texture and freshness.
