No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies—often called Boiled Cookies—are a classic for a reason. With a rich chocolatey base, a hint of peanut butter, and the comforting texture of oats, these cookies are as nostalgic as they are irresistible. There's no baking required—just boil, stir, and drop. They’re quick, easy, and perfect for busy days or warm weather when you want a treat without turning on the oven.
Ingredients
-
2 cups sugar
-
4 Tbsp cocoa
-
1 stick butter
-
½ cup milk
-
2 ½ cups quick cooking oats
-
½ cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
-
1 tsp vanilla
Directions
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk.
Bring the mixture to a rolling boil and let it boil for 1½ minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and immediately stir in oats, peanut butter, and vanilla.
Mix well until everything is fully combined and creamy.
Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper or parchment paper.
Let cookies cool and set at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes before serving.
Recipe Note
- For softer cookies, slightly reduce the boil time. For firmer cookies, boil a few seconds longer—but be careful not to overcook or they may turn dry and crumbly.
- Use creamy or crunchy peanut butter depending on your texture preference.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or refrigerate for a firmer bite.
